Photo: Shutterstock The Maldives will be the official host country of the ITB Berlin International Tourism Fair in 2027.
The big announcement was made today, March 5, 2026, the last day of the fair, by Visit Maldives CEO Ibrahim Shiuree and Messe Berlin CEO Dr. Mario Tobias, who signed the agreement at a ceremony held at the Maldives' pavilion.
According to the official announcement, the choice highlights the ongoing collaboration between the country and one of the most important events in the global tourism industry. Next year, the islands will showcase the variety of vacation options they offer, including luxury resorts, boutique hotels, diving experiences, water sports, wellness and spa centers, as well as cultural encounters on the local islands.
Photo: ITB BERLINThe official opening ceremony of ITB Berlin 2027 will take place on March 15 at the fairgrounds, while the exhibition will run from March 16 to 18. The event will feature performances from the Maldives, networking events and media activities.
