Norwegian Luna Cruise Ship Joins NCL Fleet: This Is What Awaits Passengers

The new ship, part of the Prima Plus series, was delivered at a shipyard in Italy and will be launched in Miami at the end of March 2026. The ship is expected to sail Caribbean itineraries throughout the year. Here's what to expect in terms of entertainment, restaurants, and rooms on Luna

Norwegian Cruise Line has taken delivery of Norwegian Luna , which will now join the company’s fleet and become its 21st ship. Luna was delivered at a shipyard in Italy and is the second in the 

The ship weighs approximately 156,000 tons and can accommodate up to 3,565 passengers. On board there are 1,809 rooms and a variety of facilities including 17 dining complexes and 18 bars and lounges. In addition, the ship offers recreation areas, entertainment complexes and open spaces designed to combine leisure activities, shows and social experiences during the cruise.

Among the main attractions on board is the Aqua Slidecoaster, which combines a waterslide and a roller coaster. The deck also includes an outdoor play area called Luna Midway with carnival-inspired games, and the Moon Climber, which includes a multi-stage obstacle course. The Luna Game Zone offers a combination of arcade games and virtual reality, while the Glow Court features an interactive LED floor that serves as a sports field by day and an entertainment space by night.

The ship also offers relaxation areas, including the Mandara Spa and an adults-only beach club called Vibe Beach Club.

Entertainment will include “Elton: A Celebration of Elton John,” a show dedicated to Elton John's music, and “HIKO: Innovation Meets Wonder,” a multimedia, acrobatic, and dance show. In addition, Syd Norman’s Pour House will host a tribute show to the Eagles.

On the culinary side, the ship offers several main dining rooms included in the cruise price, as well as additional themed restaurants. The Indulge Food Hall complex includes nine stands with different cuisines, including Indian cuisine, barbecue, and noodle dishes. In addition, there are specialty restaurants, including the French restaurant Le Bistro and the Thai restaurant Sukhothai.

The ship offers a variety of room types, including interior rooms, ocean view rooms, balcony rooms, and suites. Additionally, The Haven by Norwegian is on board, featuring suites, private areas, and concierge and butler service for guests.

Lifting Anchor

After a transatlantic voyage from Rome (Civitavecchia), Norwegian Luna is expected to arrive in the United States on March 23, 2026, and make her debut in Miami. The official launch ceremony is expected to take place on March 27 at the Port of Miami.

During its first year of operation, the ship will sail from Miami on three- and four-day itineraries to the Bahamas as well as seven-day Caribbean itineraries. Destinations include Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the company’s private island of Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas.

Starting in November 2026, the ship will also sail Western Caribbean itineraries with stops in Roatan, Honduras, Cozumel, Mexico, and Harvest Caye off the coast of Belize.

In April 2027, Norwegian Luna is expected to begin sailing from New York and offer four- to seven-day cruises to Bermuda.
