Air India will operate dozens of additional flights to Europe, the United States, and other destinations in Asia over the coming days due to high demand in West Asia.

Between March 10-18, 2026, the company will operate 78 additional flights on nine international routes, with the aim of increasing seat availability and providing passengers with additional travel options at a time when some flight routes in the region are affected by the security situation.

Additional flights will operate from Delhi and Mumbai airports to major destinations in Europe and North America, including New York (JFK Airport), London, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Zurich. and Paris. The company will also operate additional flights to Asian holiday destinations such as Malé in the Maldives and Colombo in Sri Lanka.

In total, the new flights will add approximately 17,660 seats in both directions across the nine routes. Flights to Europe will be operated using Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, while flights to the Maldives and Sri Lanka will be operated using Airbus A320neo aircraft. The expanded route between Delhi and New York is expected to be operated using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, subject to regulatory approvals.

According to Nipun Aggarwal, the company's VP of Commercial, despite the challenges in the region, it continues to operate its scheduled flights to Europe and North America using alternative flight routes that have been tested and found safe. He said the company is confident that passengers who need to reach these destinations will appreciate the significant addition of flight options and the stability the company offers during this complex period.
