Due to a national demonstration scheduled for Thursday, March 12, Brussels Airport authorities have warned that significant disruptions are expected to affect operations.

According to an official update, part of the staff working for security and ground handling service providers will participate in the demonstration, which is likely to create major operational challenges at the airport.

To maintain the safety of passengers and staff, airport management has decided, in coordination with the airlines, not to operate any departing passenger flights on March 12.

Airlines are expected to contact affected passengers directly in the coming days to provide information about available options, including rebooking or alternative arrangements.

The disruption could also affect arriving flights. Since departing flights are cancelled, some inbound passenger flights may also be cancelled as airlines adjust their schedules.

Airport officials noted that the online flight information board will only display cancellations once they are officially registered by the airlines, so passengers are advised to continue checking for updates.

In addition to flight disruptions, public transportation services to and from the airport are also expected to face interruptions

Airport authorities expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and emphasized that the decision was made in order to prioritize the safety of both passengers and airport staff during the demonstration.
