Passenger traffic in Greece's regional airport network, managed by Fraport Greece, continued to show a growth trend during February 2026. Demand for flights went up, leading to improved performance at several airports across the network.
Thessaloniki Airport (SKG) led the monthly growth with a 7.1% increase in passenger numbers, marking a rise of approximately 30,000 passengers compared to the same period last year. The increase was due to a combination of higher domestic traffic and international flights.
Santorini Airport (JTR) also showed a significant recovery, with passenger numbers increasing by 27% or roughly 7,000 passengers, reaching levels similar to those of February 2024. The bulk of the increase was recorded in domestic flight traffic.
Thessaloniki Airport also stood out in international passenger traffic thanks to its year-round routes. Limited international flight activity was also recorded from Chania and Rhodes airports.
Another statistic that illustrates the high demand for flights is the increase in the average load factor, which stood at 81.4% in February compared to 77.1% in February 2025.
