A successful year for Greek airports. Following the annual summary published by Athens Airport, which broke the all-time passenger record last year, the 14 regional airports in the country managed by Fraport Greece are also reporting very strong figures.
During 2025, more than 37.1 million passengers passed through the 14 airports managed by the company, an increase of 3% compared to 2024. In December 2025 alone, more than 881,000 passengers were recorded, an increase of 9.4% compared to December last year, a figure indicating continued high demand even in the winter season.
Flight activity also increased in 2025. The number of domestic flights increased by 1.1% to 86,971 flights, while international flights increased by 3.2% to 196,382 flights. Overall, flight activity increased by an average of 2.5%.
Notable Airports
Looking at individual airports, Thessaloniki-Macedonia continued to show a steady growth trend. In December, passenger traffic increased by 10.7%, with an addition of approximately 56,000 passengers and reaching 580,267 passengers per month. In annual terms, passenger traffic at Thessaloniki increased by 8.2% and amounted to approximately 7.98 million passengers.
Rhodes Airport also performed strongly, with more than 7 million passengers in 2025 and an annual increase of 2.5% compared to 2024. In December alone, there was an 8.4% increase with 72,624 passengers, a figure that reinforces the island's status as a leading international tourist destination.
