German airline Lufthansa announced on Tuesday (March 16, 2026) that it has received official approval to operate 25 seats of its new Allegris business class on Boeing 787-9 aircraft. This is another step in implementing the company's new flagship product, which has been gradually entering service since the end of 2025.
The first flight with the approved seats took off on March 15, 2026, from Frankfurt to Toronto, on a Dreamliner aircraft named "Potsdam." The remaining aircraft of this model, which include the new product, are expected to enter full service within a few days.
The current flight schedule includes destinations such as Rio de Janeiro, Bogota, Austin, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and, as mentioned, Toronto. With the opening of the summer schedule at the end of March, the range of destinations will be expanded to include Cape Town, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. New York (JFK), Los Angeles, and Delhi are also expected to be added later this year.
