From Brussels to Beijing and Chengdu via Air China: Brussels Airport Announces Two New Direct Asian Destinations

Brussels Airport adds two direct routes to Asia via AirChina. "We’re excited to welcome AirChina and to offer travellers two new ways to fly directly between Brussels and China"

Brussels Airport has today (March 26, 2026) announced two direct routes to its network. Air China, the national flag carrier of China and a major member of the Star Alliance, will connect Brussels with Beijing. The airline that operates a global network consisting of more than 1,100 destinations across 190+ countries will also add Chengdu to its roster of destinations on the Asian continent.

The fast-growing city, located in the Western part of the country and also known as the capital of Sichuan Province, sanctuary for giant pandas, and a UNESCO City of Gastronomy, will be served by Brussels Airport for the first time. By adding it to its network, the airport has expanded its Asian offer to 9 direct destinations

Beijing is China's capital and home to over 21 million people, blending ancient history, including the Forbidden City and Great Wall, with innovative technology.

In January, the European airport reported more than 1.6 million passengers passed through its gates, marking an increase of 5.5% compared to on of 2025. Cargo volumes also went up by 3.5%, reaching close to 61,500 tonnes.
