A White House spokeswoman announced that after disagreements between Republicans and Democrats that led to non-payment and employee absences, a compromise was reached "thanks to President Donald J. Trump's decisive leadership"

After long weeks of chaos and security checkpoint lines stretching even outside airports across the US, it appears the situation is on the way to calming down.

The spokesperson for the House of Representatives, Karoline Levitt, issued a statement last night (March 31, 2026) stating that "thanks to President Donald J. Trump's decisive leadership, chaos at airports across the nation is beginning to ease."

According to her statement (in language that blamed Trump's opponents), "TSA officers receive long-overdue pay amid the Democrat DHS Shutdown."

Recall that throughout the past month, huge lines were recorded at airports after TSA (US Airport Security) employees did not show up for work after not receiving their pay.

In his attempts to find a solution, US President Donald Trump suggested that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) workers, who have recently made headlines under very unflattering circumstances, replace TSA workers. Now, as mentioned, the workers are slowly starting to receive their pay and return to work, coinciding with the start of the busy spring break season.
