Photo: Shutterstock According to the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, several transport unions have announced a four-hour national strike on Friday, April 10, 2026. The walk-outs have been scheduled from 13:00 to 17:00 local time (11:00 to 15:00 GMT) and will involve ground-handling staff, security screeners, and some air-traffic-control technicians, as well as Busitalia Sita Nord personnel, according to the official strike calendar updated by the ministry.
Strikes will carry on into the weekend, and they will be followed by other stoppages affecting local public transport, freight transport, and maritime transport next week.
