Owner, operator, and developer of Sweden's 10 airports, Swedania, has announced a "positive trend in March", driven by ongoing demand for global and domestic routes.
The company, responsible for creating "a system that links Sweden, and Sweden with the world", explained that, despite a variey of developments that all local airports have undergone, almost all of them, except for Kiruna, recorded a rise in passenger traffic.
"International traffic was affected to some extent by the situation in the Middle East. However, overall the development was positive," Swedania explained.
The country's largest airport, Stockholm Arlanda, reported close to 1.9 million passengers last month, marking a 5% rise compared to March of 2025, while International air travel went up by 5%, reaching more than 1.5 million passengers. At the same time, domestic air travel increased by 4%, getting near the 378,000 passenger mark.
Göteborg Landvetter Airport recorded roughly 384,000 passengers in March 2026, up 4% from March 2025. International flights increased by close to 5% to over 341,000 passengers. Domestic air travel recorded stable numbers, at close to 43,000 passengers.
The other 8 airports part of Swedavia showed similar positive figures.
