As part of its expansion plan in EuropeUnited Airlines announced last October the opening of the Newark (New York)-Split, Croatia route. The new route, the first ever for an American company, will open on April 30, with three flights per week on a 767 aircraft. The flight will last approximately 8 hours.

It should be noted that, until now, United operated a route to DubrovnikCroatia, but arriving in Split from the United States required a connecting flight through one of Europe's largest airports.

Split, the second-largest city in Croatia, has become one of the most popular destinations in the region in recent years, with impressive development of hotels, resorts, and attractions.

According to United's work plan, this is a seasonal route that will operate until September. As part of the company's route development plan, new ones have also been announced in Italy, Spain, and other countries.
