A unique collaboration between aviation and music has taken off in unexpected fashion. United Airlines has officially sold out its limited-edition “Rhapsody in Flight” vinyl record shortly after making it available to the public.

The airline shared the update via social media, confirming the rapid sell-out just hours after launch. “UPDATE: SOLD OUT!” the post read, following the launch message: “For the record, the sale is live! Head to the United Shop at the link in bio to grab our limited-edition Rhapsody in Flight Vinyl Record with special zoetrope animations! Quantities are extremely limited so get yours before they all fly off the shelves.”

The “Rhapsody in Flight” record featured special zoetrope animations embedded into the vinyl design, as well as a "bonus track featuring the OG version of the iconic song".

The sale was conducted online through the airline’s official shop, surging in quick interest. Many users expressed frustration about not being able to buy a vinyl, pressuring the company to add more products to the shop in the comments section. The airline hinted they might see their wishes come true, replied with "noted" emojis and "We'll put in a good word!" messages.

The company has more anniversary merchandise available, as part of its 100th anniversary collection, including travel accessories, clothing, and collectibles that reflect the airline’s heritage, with highlights featuring detailed model aircraft, such as the 100 Years Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner in both 1:400 and 1:200 scale versions.

The airline has also included commemorative lapel pins tied to initiatives like Special Olympics and Make-A-Wish, reflecting a broader connection to community partnerships.
