A continued increase in jet fuel prices will put heavy pressure on the aviation industry in Europe and around the world, according to the 2026 forecast published by the Romanian Airlines Association "Carpathia". According to the announcement, the effects are already being felt in how flights are operated and are expected to deepen in the coming year.

Among the key steps taken by airlines are reducing frequencies on certain routes, optimizing the route network to improve operational efficiency, and increasing ticket prices due to rising costs.

The association notes that the industry is largely influenced by external factors, primarily volatility in the oil market and geopolitical developments, factors that make market stability and long-term planning difficult.

Carpathia warns that, for passengers, the upcoming period may include lower availability on certain flights, price volatility, and the need for more careful, earlier travel planning.

Despite the challenges, the association expressed cautious optimism and emphasized that the main goal remains the same: to ensure safe, efficient flights tailored to passengers' needs, even in a time of uncertainty.
