Bahrain has announced the reopening of its airspace, after a period of restrictions amid regional tensions, the country's Civil Aviation Authority said on the evening of April 8, 2026.
The authority emphasized that it is working to ensure the smooth flow of air traffic, in accordance with security requirements, and in continuous coordination with all relevant parties in the region.
Following the decision, a gradual return to flight operations at Bahrain International Airport began. An official statement from Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the operator and managing body of Bahrain Airport, said that the return to operations will be carried out in phases, in accordance with conditions on the ground and the opening of airspace in the kingdom.
The airport urged passengers to check with airlines regarding flight status, as schedules may change in the near future. The return to activity is expected to be gradual, with the scope of flights being adjusted to developments and the regional situation, while maintaining the safety of passengers and crew.
