The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has released its latest Economic Impact Research, highlighting a 5.3% growth recorded by the Middle East’s Travel & Tourism sector in 2025. The region outperformed the global average of 4.1%, further proving why it is one of the fastest-growing tourism markets worldwide.

The sector contributed a total of $385.8 billion to regional GDP while supporting no less than 7.1 million jobs, largely driven by rising international demand and domestic travel, as well as the continually expanding tourism aimed at business travelers.

International visitor spending also went up 5.2%, ahead of the global average of 3.2%.

Who's in the Lead?

Saudi Arabia ruled over the region in terms of growth, with $178 billion generated in Travel & Tourism GDP and accounting for nearly half of the region’s total.

The country recorded 7.4% sector growth and an 8.2% rise in international visitor spending, alongside a major surge in business travel.

The UAE, Jordan, and Oman also recorded strong results, reflecting broad-based momentum across the region. Business travel was a key driver, rising 23% year-on-year as the Middle East strengthens its role as a global hub for events, investment, and connectivity.

Gloria Guevara, President & CEO, WTTC: “The Middle East’s performance in 2025 highlighted the strength and long-term potential of Travel & Tourism, with the sector continuing to act as a key driver of economic growth, job creation, and international connectivity across the region."
