Today (Thursday, May 7, 2027), Lexus unveiled the new Lexus TZ model in a world premiere. The large and luxurious electric crossover marks the brand's next generation in the electric world.
With three rows of seats, seating for six, and a cabin designed to feel like a luxury lounge, Lexus is positioning the TZ as one of its most ambitious models in recent years.
The new model was developed around the “Driving Lounge” concept, a new approach from the Japanese brand that seeks to make the driving experience quieter, more relaxed and more pleasant, for both the driver and passengers. Lexus explains that the inspiration for the cabin design came from traditional Japanese architecture, with an emphasis on a sense of space, design cleanliness and a peaceful atmosphere.

The sharp front, flowing roofline and L-shaped rear light units give it a modern and distinctive look, while a drag coefficient of 0.27 is designed to improve energy efficiency and range.
Inside, the largest panoramic roof ever featured in a Lexus model stands out, extending over three rows of seats and enhancing the sense of openness. The second row features separate captain's chairs, while the third row is designed to accommodate adults in complete comfort, with generous legroom and headroom.

Lexus' DIRECT4 all-wheel drive system intelligently manages the distribution of power between the axles, with the aim of improving stability, grip, and ride comfort.
The front electric motor produces 227 horsepower, while the rear motor delivers 120 horsepower. The model also offers fast charging (DC) with a power of up to 150 kW, allowing charging from 10% to 80% in about half an hour.

The vehicle is equipped with thicker glass, sound-absorbing materials, and aerodynamically designed side mirrors, with the aim of making the passenger compartment particularly quiet.
The TZ also includes advanced safety systems as part of the Lexus Safety System+ package, along with a dynamic rear steering system, regenerative braking with several different deceleration modes, and a system that simulates a manual transmission driving experience using paddles behind the steering wheel.
