Singapore Airlines is expanding its European network with more flights to Manchester, Milan, Munich, and London Gatwick, while also launching a new route to Madrid via Barcelona later this year.
The airline said the changes are designed to meet growing demand for travel between Europe and Singapore and improve connectivity through its Changi Airport hub.
Dai Haoyu, Senior Vice President Marketing Planning, Singapore Airlines: “Europe is an important market for Singapore Airlines, and these adjustments reflect our commitment to it. We are seeing strong demand for travel to Europe, and increasing frequencies to key destinations such as Manchester, Milan, Munich, and London Gatwick in response. Madrid is also an increasingly popular tourist destination, as well as a financial and business hub. These new services will give our customers more choice and greater value when planning their travel.”
Starting July 13, 2026, Singapore Airlines will increase its Manchester service from five weekly flights to daily operations. Flights to London Gatwick will also become daily from October 25, giving the airline a total of six daily flights to London when combined with its Heathrow operations.
The carrier will also upgrade its Milan route from four weekly flights to daily service from October 25. Meanwhile, a new three-times-weekly Munich flight will launch on October 26, increasing Singapore Airlines’ total weekly flights to the German city to 10.
One of the biggest additions is Madrid, which will become Singapore Airlines’ 15th European destination and second in Spain. The new five-times-weekly route will operate via Barcelona from October 26, subject to regulatory approval.
As part of the change, the airline will discontinue its current Singapore-Milan-Barcelona service.
Singapore Airlines is modifying its operations in Barcelona starting October 26, 2026, and will increase direct flights between Singapore and Barcelona from 2 to 5 weekly. The flight will then continue on to Madrid, where the airline is resuming service to this destination 22 years later.
"The three-times weekly Singapore-Milan-Barcelona services, SQ378 and SQ377, will be cancelled from 27 October 2026 following the launch of the new Singapore-Barcelona-Madrid service."
Singapore Airlines said Madrid continues to grow as both a tourism hotspot and an important financial and business center.
The new Spain route will be operated using the Airbus A350-900 long-haul aircraft configured with Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy cabins.
Tickets for the Madrid flights are expected to go on sale in June 2026.
