The European airline group announced that its airlines will begin gradually resuming their flights to and from Israel starting in June 2026.
The decision was made after a comprehensive security and safety assessment, and comes a day after the European Aviation Safety Agency eased the flight warning to Israel, and, as was expected, following the removal, European companies would return to Israel.
According to the plan, starting June 1, Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa Cargo will resume operations on the Tel Aviv route. Starting July 1, Lufthansa and SWISS plan to resume flights to Ben Gurion Airport, and in mid-July, Eurowings is also expected to resume operations on the route.
Brussels Airlines, on the other hand, has at this stage suspended its flights to Ben Gurion Airport until October 24, 2026.
At the same time, SWISS announced that it is extending the suspension of flights to Dubai until September 13, 2026, and the suspension of flights to Beirut until October 24, 2026. The company noted that it continues to closely monitor developments in the Middle East and is in regular contact with the relevant authorities in Switzerland and the region, along with officials in the Lufthansa Group.
In addition, SWISS announced that it will continue to operate the increased flight schedule on the Zurich-Delhi route, including an additional daily flight on the Airbus A330 aircraft, until September 13, 2026. The move comes against the backdrop of high demand for India and the subsequent reduction of Air India's operations due to airspace restrictions.
