Major Boost for Israel Aviation: ITA Airways Plans Return to the Country

The Italian airline has announced that it aims to resume flights to Tel Aviv as early as July, while the suspension of the route to Dubai will continue until at least mid-September due to the situation in the region

After the Lufthansa Group announced its return to Israel, group partner ITA Airways also broke the news that it plans to resume flights to Tel Aviv and Riyadh as early as July. The suspension of flights to Dubai will be extended until September 13, inclusive.

The company stated that the decisions are being made in light of the security situation in the Middle East, and that it continues to monitor developments in the region on an ongoing basis. Passengers were asked to check their flight status on the company's website before arriving at the airport.

As previously announced, the Lufthansa Group is resuming its flights to Israel in the coming days. According to the plan, starting June 1Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa Cargo will resume operations on the Tel Aviv route. Starting July 1Lufthansa and SWISS plan to resume flights to Ben Gurion Airport, and Eurowings is also expected to resume operations on the route in mid-July.

Brussels Airlines, on the other hand, has at this stage suspended its flights to Ben Gurion Airport until October 24, 2026.

After the European Aviation Safety Agency lifted the recommendation not to fly to Israel, it was expected that the Lufthansa Group and ITA Airlines, along with other companies, would resume their flights to Israel.
