During the flight, explained the airline, a crew member was the "victim of a cowardly attack while performing his professional duties."
"At LATAM, this type of conduct is unacceptable and will not be tolerated," emphasized the company.
LATAM said that it will stand by its crew member, adding that the "entire LATAM family is outraged by the brutality of the events".
Currently, the company is cooperating with the Federal Police while also conducting a thorough internal investigation into the conduct of all those involved, in strict compliance with its code of ethics and applicable regulations.
"LATAM trusts in the exemplary application of applicable legal measures, including legislation concerning unruly passengers," the statement added.
