Brussels Airlines is giving passengers a new reason to pay attention before takeoff with the launch of a cinematic onboard safety video created in collaboration with acclaimed Belgian directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.
The new production, titled “Safety Heist,” transforms the traditional airline safety demonstration into a fast-paced, Hollywood-inspired experience filled with humor, action, and stylized visuals. The video will debut across the airline’s long-haul fleet starting July 1.

Drawing inspiration from blockbuster franchises such as Ocean's Eleven and Mission: Impossible, the safety briefing follows a coordinated team preparing for an elaborate mission where every onboard instruction becomes part of the operation to ensure passengers arrive safely.

Known internationally for directing films including Bad Boys for Life and Batgirl, Adil and Bilall infused the project with their signature energetic storytelling style, quick pacing, and comic-inspired visuals. The video also pays tribute to Belgium’s rich comic-book heritage through animated sequences integrated throughout the film.

The cast features several Belgian talents, including internationally known DJ Dimitri Vegas, alongside actors Claude Musungayi and Cyra Gwynith. Each performer takes on recognizable archetypes commonly seen in classic heist films while helping communicate the mandatory safety instructions in an entertaining way.

Belgian film director and creative designer Isaac Gozin also contributed to the campaign by designing a movie-style poster to accompany the launch.
“This safety video is an homage to a popular Hollywood genre,” Adil and Bilall said in a joint statement. “The cartoon-style animations integrated into the film are a nod to Belgium’s comic-book culture and part of our signature style. We also wanted the cast to reflect the diversity of the traveling public.”
Michel Moriaux, Head of Product and Marketing at Brussels Airlines, said the project aligns with the carrier’s broader goal of showcasing Belgian culture internationally.
“Brussels Airlines connects Belgium with the world, but we also want to be ambassadors for the best of Belgium,” Moriaux said. “From our Belgian Icon aircraft to onboard menus and now this safety video, we want to highlight Belgian creativity around the globe.”
Airlines worldwide have increasingly experimented with more engaging safety videos in recent years as carriers look for creative ways to capture passengers’ attention during one of the most routinely ignored parts of air travel. Brussels Airlines hopes its latest production will encourage travelers to stay focused on the important safety instructions while also enjoying the experience.
