Qatar Airways Group reported a net profit of QAR 7.08 billion ($1.94 billion) for the 2025/26 financial year, highlighting what the airline described as a year of “prudent growth and operational resilience” despite geopolitical tensions affecting operations toward the end of the period.

The airline carried more than 41.8 million passengers during the year while maintaining its global network through Hamad International Airport. Qatar Airways Cargo also transported more than 1.43 million tonnes of freight, helping the company maintain its position as the world’s largest air cargo carrier with a reported 12% global market share.

The carrier also recorded an 86% on-time performance, earning the Cirium Platinum Award for Operational Excellence and placing among the world’s five most punctual airlines.

Qatar Airways Group CEO Hamad Al-Khater said the financial year tested the company’s ability to perform under pressure.

“It is not often that a single financial year asks an organisation to demonstrate both the best of what it can achieve and the depth of what it can withstand,” he said. “These results speak to the strength of this Group across every measure that matters.”

He also praised the airline’s workforce, saying many employees managed “an active crisis with a standard of professionalism that defines this organisation.”

During the year, Qatar Airways signed major agreements with Boeing and GE Aerospace covering up to 210 aircraft and 400 engines, marking one of the largest fleet commitments in commercial aviation history.

The airline was also named World’s Best Airline 2025 by Skytrax for a record ninth time.

Looking ahead, Qatar Airways plans to expand its network to more than 160 destinations by summer 2026 while continuing to roll out Starlink internet connectivity across its long-haul fleet.
