American Airlines and the Miami HEAT have announced a new multiyear sponsorship extension, continuing a partnership that has lasted for more than 25 years.

Under the renewed agreement, American Airlines will remain the Official Airline of the Miami HEAT, with the partnership including fan experiences, arena promotions at the Kaseya Center, and special benefits for members of the airline’s AAdvantage loyalty program.

Growing Up in Tandem for Almost  Four Decades

The airline said the extension reflects its long-term commitment to Miami, where it operates its largest gateway to Latin America and the Caribbean through Miami International Airport.

American Airlines Vice President of Miami Operations Juan Carlos Liscano described the relationship between the airline and the basketball franchise as closely tied to the city’s growth over the past several decades.

“The Miami HEAT and our American Airlines Miami hub have grown in tandem for nearly 40 years,” Liscano said, adding that the partnership represents the “heart, hustle and commitment to excellence” associated with the Miami community.

As part of the renewed sponsorship, AAdvantage members will receive access to exclusive experiences tied to the team, including sweepstakes prizes, travel opportunities to select away games, VIP events, and access to tickets and experiences redeemable with loyalty miles.

Miami HEAT Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer John Vidalin said the extension reflects the shared connection both organizations have with the city.

At a Time of Celebrations

The partnership renewal comes during a milestone year for both brands. American Airlines is celebrating its centennial anniversary in 2026, while the Miami HEAT recently marked the 20th anniversary of the franchise’s 2006 NBA championship team.

Earlier this year, American Airlines served as the presenting partner for a commemorative HEAT event that included a postgame concert featuring former NBA star Dwyane Wade. The event also included VIP experiences for loyalty members, photo opportunities with the 2006 championship trophy, and signed merchandise giveaways.

The announcement also comes as American Airlines continues expanding its Miami operations. The airline recently confirmed plans for a major redevelopment of Concourse D at Miami International Airport, along with a new Flagship lounge and expanded Admirals Club facilities.

Today, American Airlines operates more than 400 peak daily flights from Miami to 170 destinations across 46 countries and territories, serving over 32 million passengers annually through the airport.
