Hong Kong International Airport officially inaugurated the new Terminal 2 this weekend, in a festive event attended by approximately 1,500 guests, including senior government, aviation and business figures.
This is one of the most significant moves in the airport's development in recent years, as part of efforts to strengthen Hong Kong's position as a leading international aviation hub in Asia.

Terminal 2 was designed primarily for leisure travelers, with an emphasis on user experience and advanced technology. The departure hall includes eight check-in areas (P to W), 58 smart kiosks, 68 automated baggage claim stations and 108 hybrid counters, combining self-service with human support.

In addition, in the 15 smart screening lanes, passengers will be able to leave laptops and liquids up to 100 ml in their hand luggage during the scan.
Beyond technology, the terminal also offers a modern passenger experience, featuring giant LED screens displaying 3D content and videos inspired by the marine world, as well as a food court with 8 restaurants and 12 shops.
