The airline posted a sarcastic comment asking, “Don’t you have any teammates?” after promotional images focused heavily on the Portuguese forward celebrating alone.
Now, the airline’s name has appeared in another football-related viral moment after Bournemouth celebrated qualifying for European football with a playful “RAYANAIR” banner shared online today, May 25, 2025..
The image, posted as part of the club’s celebrations, featured the phrase “We’re all going on a European tour,” referencing Bournemouth’s historic qualification for the Europa League, while the banner also cleverly mentioned their star player Ryan Vitor, who joined the team in January 2026.
Fans quickly linked the post to Ryanair’s recent football-themed social media activity, with many joking that the airline had unofficially become part of the football conversation this week.
The airline's response was short and to the point: "Our lawyers will be in touch."
Meanwhile, Ryanair, which continues to build a strong online presence through fast-moving memes, sarcastic replies, and references to trending sports stories, has announced it is officially debt-free just days after announcing its profit soared 40% after carrying over 208 million passengers during the 2025/26 financial year.
