The Metropolitan Police have reported multiple arrests, assaults, and a stabbing investigation following large crowds gathering around Arsenal's victory parade celebrations near Emirates Stadium in north London on Sunday, May 31, 2026.

According to police updates issued last night, the event was "mostly celebratory," but officers responded to a number of incidents, including assaults, drug offenses, sexual assault allegations, and disorderly behavior.

By 6 p.m., police said nine arrests had been made across the parade footprint for offenses including drunk and disorderly behavior, drug offenses, sexual assault, and assaulting emergency workers.

As crowds remained in the area later in the evening, officers reported receiving additional reports of police officers being assaulted.

"We continue to see large crowds in the area around the Emirates and have unfortunately received further reports of officers being assaulted," the Metropolitan Police said in a statement posted on social media.

"Today's event has been mostly celebratory, but we were clear that we will not tolerate anti-social behavior, disorder, or other criminality."

The force confirmed that dispersal powers would be used to prevent further criminal activity and warned that additional arrests would be made where offenses were committed.

Later in the evening, officers established a crime scene on Hornsey Road following a stabbing. Police said officers were called shortly after 8:30 p.m. and attended alongside paramedics and the air ambulance.

A man was taken to hospital, where his condition was being assessed.

The Metropolitan Police also reported responding to several other assaults and a number of unlicensed music events in the area.

By 9 p.m. local time, the total number of arrests had risen to 16, including six arrests for assaulting police officers.

Although the majority of attendees had left the area by late evening, police said some individuals continued to engage in disorder and criminal activity.

In response, a Section 60 order was authorized overnight, granting officers additional stop-and-search powers within the designated area surrounding the parade route.

Police also confirmed that supporters had left the bridge outside Emirates Stadium and that road closures around the stadium would remain in place for the remainder of the day, with officers continuing patrols throughout the evening.

At the end of May, another massive parade celebrating Aston Villa's Europa League victory caused important travel disruptions across Birmingham.
