The UK government has confirmed that recent logistics disruptions affecting Edinburgh and Glasgow airports over the weekend have now been resolved.

In a statement posted by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, officials said the issue was caused by driver logistics problems rather than wider supply chain pressures.

Authorities also moved to clarify speculation about fuel availability, stressing that the disruption was not linked to international conflict or broader energy supply concerns.

“This was due to driver logistics and is not linked to the conflict in the Middle East or wider supply issues,” the department said.

“To be clear, UK airlines are not currently seeing any shortage of jet fuel.”

The clarification comes after reports of operational concerns at the two Scottish airports, which prompted questions about potential impacts on aviation fuel supply chains.
