The European Commission is encouraging more people to explore Europe by bicycle as World Bicycle Day approaches on June 3, in a new effort to make cycling safer, easier, and more accessible across the continent.
Under the European Declaration on Cycling, the European Union has committed to expanding cycling infrastructure and improving connections between bikes and public transport.
Planned measures include safer cycling networks in cities, additional spaces for bicycles on cross-border trains, and funding for e-bike charging points and secure bicycle parking facilities.

As part of the campaign, the EU is also promoting the EuroVelo network, a collection of long-distance cycling routes that connect countries across Europe and offer travelers scenic alternatives to traditional road trips.
The measures are designed to encourage sustainable travel while giving residents and visitors more options to discover Europe on two wheels.
