The UK's Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office has issued an update for travelers in Japan as Typhoon No. 6 Jangmi continues to affect central parts of the country, including the Tokyo metropolitan area.

According to the advisory, the storm is bringing heavy rain, strong winds, and disruption to transportation services, including air and rail, across the region. Authorities have warned that localized flooding and travel delays are possible as the weather system moves through central Japan.

The FCDO added that travelers in affected areas should remain alert and follow instructions issued by local authorities

"Localized flooding and transport delays are possible. If you are in an affected area, you should monitor advice issued by national and local authorities and follow any instructions."

The warning comes as airlines and rail operators monitor conditions that could lead to delays, cancellations, and schedule changes across parts of Japan's transport network.

The FCDO advised travelers to keep track of the storm's progress through official weather updates and local news sources, including the Japan Meteorological Agency and NHK World.

Typhoon Jangmi has already brought periods of intense rainfall and gusty winds to several regions, with authorities continuing to monitor the risk of flooding and other weather-related impacts.
