According to a statement from the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC), there were two crew members on board the plane: the pilot and the co-pilot, and both were killed in the crash. It was also reported that there were no passengers on board the plane.
According to initial information, the plane requested to return to the airport after reporting a malfunction during the flight and attempted to make an emergency landing. The circumstances of the accident are being investigated by the competent authorities.
The aeronautical authorities activated the corresponding protocols and are conducting on-site investigations to determine the causes of the incident. Both the IDAC and the CIAA will provide additional information as the investigative process progresses."
