Passengers traveling to and from London Luton Airport are being advised to plan ahead after the airport warned of upcoming road and rail disruptions that could affect journeys over the coming weeks.
The airport said overnight closures will be in place on the M1 motorway between Junctions 10 and 9 for ten nights starting on June 8, 2026. Travelers driving to or from the airport are encouraged to check their routes and allow extra time or consider alternative travel arrangements.
At the same time, rail passengers are being alerted to significant accessibility changes at St Pancras International.
From June 15 until mid-September, there will be no lift or step-free access to the below-surface Thameslink platforms (Platforms A and B) at the station. Passengers who require lift access and cannot use stairs or escalators will need to use alternative step-free routes.
The recommended alternative is to travel via Farringdon Station and connect using the London Underground's Circle, Hammersmith & City, or Metropolitan lines to and from King's Cross St Pancras.
Passengers traveling from Luton Airport Parkway railway station to St Pancras International are advised to use East Midlands Railway services where available. Those traveling from stations between Bedford and Luton may need to use a Thameslink service before changing to an East Midlands Railway train for the final leg into central London.
