A new beachfront hospitality option has officially arrived in Okinawa, as the Courtyard by Marriott Okinawa Resort opened its doors on June 15, 2026, in the coastal city of Nago. The launch adds a modern resort experience to the Kise Beach area, a stretch of coastline known for its clear waters and access to northern Okinawa’s outdoor attractions.
The opening marks a new addition to the expanding presence of Marriott International in Japan’s resort market, as the company continues to grow its footprint across key leisure destinations in the Asia-Pacific region.

Beachfront Design and Island-Inspired Comfort
Designed by Japanese architecture firm Kume Sekkei, the resort blends modern interiors with Okinawa’s natural palette, drawing inspiration from the turquoise “Nago Blue” waters and Kise Beach’s golden sands. Rooms and suites feature private balconies, ocean or mountain views, and layouts suited for both couples and families.

The resort offers all-day dining at Shioka, along with The Lounge and a bar serving Okinawa-inspired cocktails. Guests also have access to a 24-hour fitness center, a kids’ club, and Marine Club Berry, which provides snorkeling, diving, and other marine activities.
Family-friendly features include larger rooms accommodating up to four guests and dedicated children’s facilities designed for interactive play and learning.
Events and Island Stays
On the top floor, a 210-square-meter event space offers panoramic ocean views for meetings, weddings, and private functions, while a dedicated chapel hosts island-style ceremonies.
Marriott executives said the opening reflects growing demand for Okinawa as a leisure destination, highlighting its subtropical climate, cultural heritage, and strong appeal among both domestic and international travelers.
