Montreal. Photo: ShutterstockAccording to airport operator Aena, the service will operate three times a week, providing travelers with a convenient new option for reaching one of Spain's most popular holiday destinations without the need for a connection elsewhere in Europe.
To celebrate the launch, passengers boarding the inaugural flight were welcomed with a special sweet table at Palma de Mallorca Airport before departing for Canada.
The new route represents another step forward in expanding Mallorca's long haul connectivity and opens the island to a growing North American market. Mallorca remains one of the Mediterranean's most sought-after destinations, attracting visitors with its beaches, historic towns, gastronomy, and outdoor activities.
For Canadian travelers, the direct service offers easier access to the Balearic Islands, while residents of Mallorca gain a faster route to one of Canada's largest cities and a major gateway for onward connections across North America.
The launch also adds to Air Canada's growing transatlantic network, as airlines continue to increase capacity on leisure-focused routes amid strong demand for international travel.
