High Tatras Tourism Film Wins Silver at International Festival in Africa

Slovakia's High Tatras tourism campaign earned a Silver Award at the International Tourism Film Festival Africa, competing against 438 entries

A promotional film showcasing Slovakia’s High Tatras has earned international recognition after winning a Silver Award at the International Tourism Film Festival Africa (ITFFA), one of the world's leading tourism marketing competitions.

The film, titled "High Tatras: Find Your Best," was produced by the Región Vysoké Tatry Tourist Board and competed against 438 tourism films and campaigns from 47 countries.

The award highlights Slovakia's growing international visibility as a travel destination and recognizes local tourism organizations' ability to create content that resonates with global audiences.

According to the tourism board, the film was designed to showcase the natural beauty, outdoor experiences and unique atmosphere of the High Tatras while encouraging travelers to discover their own connection with Slovakia's most famous mountain region.

The Silver Award was presented by the International Tourism Film Festival Africa, where entries were evaluated by an international jury of tourism and film industry experts.

Tourism officials described the recognition as a success not only for the High Tatras but also for Slovakia's broader tourism sector. The award demonstrates that Slovak destinations can compete on the global stage through high-quality storytelling, emotional engagement, and innovative destination marketing.

The project was led by Lucia Blašková and the team at the High Tatras Tourist Board, working alongside filmmakers, partners and tourism stakeholders involved in bringing the destination's story to international audiences.

The High Tatras remain one of Slovakia's most popular tourist regions, attracting visitors year-round with hiking trails, mountain scenery, winter sports, and wellness experiences. Tourism authorities hope the international recognition will help further raise awareness of the destination among travelers from key foreign markets.

The success comes as destinations worldwide increasingly rely on video storytelling and digital marketing campaigns to inspire travel and stand out in a highly competitive global tourism industry.
