In a social media post, Miami International Airport teased the arrival of the aircraft, which features a custom design celebrating the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The aircraft forms part of American Airlines' role as the tournament's Official North American Airline Supplier.

The arrival comes as Miami continues to play a major role in the World Cup, which is currently being hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico. Miami is staging seven tournament matches, including the Bronze Final, and has become one of the competition's busiest aviation gateways.

American Airlines unveiled the World Cup-themed aircraft earlier this year at its Miami hub, transforming one of its aircraft into a flying tribute to the world's biggest sporting event.

The launch event featured football legends, FIFA representatives and local officials, underscoring Miami's importance to both the airline and the tournament.

As American's largest international gateway and one of the busiest airports in the United States, Miami International Airport is expected to handle millions of travelers during the tournament. Airport officials have already introduced beautification projects, World Cup-themed displays and passenger experience upgrades to welcome visitors arriving for matches in South Florida and connecting to other host cities across North America.

The airline has also expanded capacity across World Cup host cities and currently offers service to all 16 tournament destinations in the United States, Canada and Mexico, helping fans follow their teams throughout the competition.

For aviation enthusiasts, the arrival of the special livery aircraft provides another opportunity to see one of the tournament's most visible aviation partnerships in action, while highlighting Miami's status as one of the key gateways for World Cup travel.
