Families traveling through Miami International Airport will soon enjoy a smoother airport experience after officials announced the expansion of the airport's Families on the Fly initiative.
The program, designed to help passengers traveling with young children navigate security screening more efficiently, has now been expanded to TSA checkpoints 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10.
The announcement was made by Miami-Dade County Commissioner Natalie Milian Orbis and MIA Director and CEO Ralph Cutié, who highlighted the benefits the initiative will bring to families traveling through one of America's busiest international gateways.

Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said she was proud to support the initiative: "Families with young children will now experience a smoother, more convenient security screening process when departing from Miami-Dade County. I'm especially excited that we're launching this program just in time to serve visitors from around the globe for the World Cup."
Commissioner Milian Orbis, a mother of two, said the program addresses challenges many parents face when flying.
"As a mother of two young children, I understand firsthand how stressful air travel can be for families. Families on the Fly is about making the airport experience smoother, safer, and less overwhelming for parents while also improving efficiency for everyone moving through MIA."
The expansion comes as Miami prepares for a surge in international visitors ahead of major global events, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Officials say the program is part of broader efforts to improve the passenger experience and ensure the airport is ready to welcome travelers from around the world.
