The launch ceremony took place at Geneva Airport in the presence of passengers, ground crew and company executives. Among the attendees were Maria del Mar Ayudarte, Air Europa's Regional Director for Europe, and Jean-François de Saussure, CEO of Geneva Airport.
Air Europa was founded in 1986 and is one of the largest and most well-known airlines in Spain. The company, which belongs to the Spanish tourism group Globalia, operates its main hub at Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suarez Airport, one of the most important airports in Europe.
Over the years, the company has established its position as a major operator on routes between Europe and Latin America, with an extensive network of destinations that includes, among others, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Panama, Cuba, the Dominican Republic and other countries in the region.
In addition, the company operates numerous routes within Spain and between Spain and major European cities, making Madrid an important aviation hub for travelers seeking convenient connections to destinations across the Atlantic.

Air Europa operates a modern fleet based largely on Boeing aircraft, including the Boeing 787 Dreamliner for long-haul flights and the Boeing 737 for short- and medium-haul flights. The airline was among the first in Europe to adopt the Dreamliner on a large scale, a move that has helped it reduce fuel consumption and offer a more advanced flying experience for passengers.
The company is a member of the international airline alliance SkyTeam, alongside giant companies such as Air France, KLM, Delta Air Lines, Korean Air, Saudia and others, which allows its passengers to enjoy a wide range of connecting flights and benefits within the framework of frequent flyer clubs.
