Unbelievable, but in Berlin, the capital of Germany, today's maximum temperature will only reach 26 degrees Celsius, and it will be the same for the rest of the week, after a whole week of a long and sweaty heat wave. In the other capitals on the continent, temperatures are also returning to the average for late June-early July.
Although these are not low temperatures by any means, London and Amsterdam are measuring only 24 degrees today, and Paris is measuring 27 degrees. But now, the heat wave is heading to the east of the continent, where the suffering is going to be quite severe in the coming days.
