The international hotel chain IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the return of the Crowne Plaza brand to Austria, with the expected opening of Crowne Plaza Vienna at the end of the third quarter of 2026. The hotel will be operated in partnership with FEURING Asset Management GmbH, which specializes in managing hotel assets across Europe.
The new hotel will feature 195 rooms, including 22 suites, with the suites on the top floor offering panoramic views of the Austrian capital. The hotel is located in the Margareten district, an area undergoing urban renewal, between the Vienna State Opera and Schönbrunn Palace, and next to the Margaretengürtel metro station.

The hotel will appeal to both business travelers and vacationers and will offer five bright meeting rooms for approximately 140 participants, a restaurant serving Austrian cuisine made with local ingredients, a bar, a rooftop fitness complex, a spa area, and underground parking with electric vehicle charging stations.
IHG notes that the decision to return the brand to Vienna comes against the backdrop of the boom in tourism to the city, which recorded more than 20 million overnight stays in 2025, a record figure since measurements began.
With the opening of the new hotel, IHG's presence in Austria will stand at 20 hotels open and under development, 11 of which are in Vienna, while the Crowne Plaza brand continues to expand in Europe with dozens of additional hotels under construction.
