American Airlines will connect Chicago to Tokyo with daily, nonstop flights starting next spring. The new route will help the airline considerably expand its trans-Pacific network in partnership with Japan Airlines, while providing travelers with a new nonstop option between the U.S. Midwest and Japan.

Members of American's AAdvantage loyalty program will continue to earn miles and Loyalty Points when flying with Japan Airlines, while elite members will receive benefits including lounge access and additional baggage allowances.
Expanding the Chicago Hub
Alongside the Tokyo announcement, American Airlines confirmed it will add two more domestic destinations from Chicago.
Flights to Charlottesville, Virginia, will begin in November, followed by service to Ontario, California, in December, bringing the airline's recent expansion from O'Hare to more than 30 new destinations over the past few years.
The carrier also highlighted ongoing investments at its Chicago hub, including a new 10,000-square-foot Admirals Club lounge, enhanced premium cabins, and expanded long-haul offerings.
