flydubai continues to expand its international destination network, adding another destination to one of the most popular countries among travelers from around the world.

The company launched a new daily flight route to Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, this week, expanding its operations in the country after, in recent years, operating direct flights only to Krabi.

The new line gives passengers particularly convenient access to central Bangkok, as Don Mueang Airport is located closer to the city center than Suvarnabhumi Airport, which is mainly used for long-haul international flights. For many passengers, this is a significant advantage, allowing them to quickly reach the hotel areas, shopping centers, business complexes and tourist attractions of the Thai capital.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand notes that in the first half of the year alone, more than 188,000 visitors from the Middle East arrived in the country, a figure that illustrates the high demand for the region. Flydubai's new route is expected to add significant capacity in the summer season, and later also in preparation for the peak tourist season in the winter months.

"Strengthening the Connection Between Dubai and Thailand"

The Dubai-based company's CEOGhaith Al Ghaith, said that the company is pleased to expand its operations in Thailand and offer its customers another gateway to the country's capital.

According to him, Thailand continues to be a major destination for both leisure and business travelers, and the new route is expected to contribute to continued growth in tourism and trade relations between the countries, along with strengthening Dubai's position as one of the world's most important aviation hubs.

The Director General of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Thapanee Kiatphaibool, also welcomed the launch of the line, noting that this move will significantly increase the number of visitors from the Middle East and strengthen the country's air connectivity.

The new flights are operated under the codeshare agreement between flydubai and Emirates, which allows passengers to book the entire route on one ticket, enjoy direct baggage transfer to the final destination, and extensive connectivity to dozens of destinations via Dubai Airport.

The route will be operated daily using Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, featuring a business class with flat-bed seats and an upgraded economy class.

The launch of Bangkok joins a series of new destinations that flydubai has announced recently, including Benghazi in Libya and Pokhara in Nepal, to which the company will begin flying this September.

The network expansion comes after a successful year for the company, during which it won the title of "Best Connected Airline in the Middle East" for the third time at the Business Traveller Middle East Awards 2026. In addition, the company won the titles of "Airline of the Year" and the "Trailblazer Award" for launching new routes.

With more than 130 destinations spread across the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Indian Ocean, flydubai continues to establish itself as one of the fastest-growing airlines in the region, expanding flight options for passengers from and via Dubai to new destinations around the world.
