A new survey by the European Union Tourism Commission (ETC) has revealed that 81% of Europeans plan to travel in the coming months (July-November 2026). This is an increase of 0.4% compared to the same period last year.
According to the data, 64% of respondents plan to travel within Europe, and more than half of them expect to take two or more vacations in the next six months. Leading Factor Travelers Consider: Neither the Weather Nor the Costs
Personal safety has become the main consideration when choosing a destination. This was voted by 20% of respondents, ahead of the weather (15%) and price (14%). At the same time, 22% of Europeans are concerned about travel costs, and 17% cite their personal financial situation as a factor influencing vacation planning. Tensions in the Middle East are also having a greater impact than before, with the number of people concerned about it doubling in a year.
Climate change is also increasingly affecting travel habits: 76% of Europeans say they consider climatic factors when planning their vacation, and many prefer cooler destinations or check weather forecasts before booking.
