Italian airline Neos has officially launched a new route between Rome Fiumicino and Holguín in eastern Cuba, in a move designed to expand flight options between Italy and the Caribbean island.
The inauguration ceremony of the line took place at Leonardo da Vinci Airport in Rome, in the presence of the Cuban ambassador to Italy, representatives of the aviation authorities, the airport management, and senior Neos company officials.
The company noted that the new line expands accessibility to the eastern region of Cuba, and strengthens tourism and transportation ties between the two countries. In addition, it is designed to respond both to family and relatives visits, which currently constitute the main demand, and to encourage a gradual increase in international tourism to the island.
Neos emphasized that they continue to believe in the tourism potential of Cuba, where the company has been operating for many years, and that the launch of the new line is part of the strategy to expand operations in the Caribbean islands and strengthen its presence in destinations with growth potential.
In addition to strengthening air connections between Italy and Cuba, the new line is expected to provide greater exposure to one of the most beautiful and authentic areas on the island, the Holguín province in eastern Cuba.
Considered one of the leading vacation destinations in the Caribbean, the area is famous for its white sand beaches, clear turquoise waters and rich coral reefs, which attract diving, snorkeling and water sports enthusiasts from all over the world. The beaches in the area are considered by many to be the most beautiful in Cuba.

The city of Holguin is known as the "City of Parks" due to the many squares and gardens scattered throughout it, and combines colonial architecture, museums, galleries, authentic Cuban music, and a more relaxed and authentic atmosphere than that of the country's main tourist destinations.
Neos, the Italian airline of the Alpitour tourism group, is considered one of the leading leisure airlines in Italy and operates a fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliners and 737 MAX aircraft. The company flies to more than 80 destinations in Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia and the Caribbean, specializing in long-haul flights to holiday destinations.
