Berlin-Brandenburg Airport (BER) recorded passenger traffic of 11.9 million people in the first half of 2026, according to the airport's semi-annual traffic report.

The figure reflects a decrease of 1.2% compared to the same period in 2025, but indicates relative stability in aviation activity at one of Germany's main airports.

In June 2026 alone, 2.28 million passengers passed through the airport, a slight decrease of 0.2% compared to June last year. The busiest day of the month was Friday, June 26, when approximately 87,535 passengers passed through the terminals.

There was also a moderate decrease in aircraft movements: during June, approximately 17,000 takeoffs and landings were carried out at the airport, a decrease of 0.6% compared to June 2025. Despite this, the cargo sector showed a positive trend, with the volume of air cargo handled at the airport increasing by approximately 2% and reaching approximately 4,400 tons during the month.

The figures reflect the challenges facing the European aviation industry in 2026, including demand adjustments, fluctuations in the international flight market and high operating costs. At the same time, BER continues to maintain significant volumes and serve as a central air gateway for the German capital and the surrounding metropolitan area.
