Hilton announced the expansion of the luxury Waldorf Astoria brand to Miami Beach, as part of an agreement with the Reuben Brothers investment company to renovate and convert one of the city's most prominent beach hotels.
The hotel, which until now operated under the luxury brand W and was purchased for approximately $400 million, is expected to reopen in the winter of 2027 under the name Waldorf Astoria Miami Beach and will be managed by Hilton.
Located on the sought-after Collins Avenue opposite the beach, the property will undergo a comprehensive upgrade that will include 348 renovated suites, all with private balconies and sea views.
As part of the project, the reception area will be rebuilt with the hospitality space associated with the Waldorf Astoria brand, alongside new restaurants led by leading chefs, a new spa and wellness complex, an upgraded gym, a pool complex spanning approximately 4,460 square meters with private cabanas, as well as renovated event halls.
The new design will combine artwork, unique hospitality experiences, and a contemporary design language, while maintaining the property's character and its connection to the distinctive atmosphere of Miami Beach.
According to Hilton, the opening of the hotel marks the continued expansion of the company's luxury brands in sought-after destinations across America. For Waldorf Astoria, this will be its first entry into Miami Beach, alongside another brand hotel planned to open in downtown Miami in 2028.
Upon completion, the hotel will join the brand’s global portfolio, which currently includes 40 luxury hotels worldwide. The project is also part of Reuben Brothers’ ongoing investments in historic and strategically important hospitality properties, along with the continued expansion of Hilton’s presence in Florida, where the chain currently operates more than 520 hotels.
