Air Canada has introduced a new Downtown Shuttle connecting central Montreal with Montréal Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL), offering travelers a faster and more predictable journey to the airport for CA$9 one-way, plus applicable taxes.

Launched in partnership with The Landline Company, the new multimodal service links the Palais des congrès de Montréal with YUL using premium motor coaches designed to reduce travel times by taking advantage of a dedicated highway lane for high-occupancy vehicles and a private airport entrance. According to Air Canada, the shuttle can save passengers up to 25 minutes during busy travel periods compared with regular airport access routes.

The airline said the service is aimed at making airport transfers easier for business travelers, conference attendees, tourists, and local residents while helping reduce congestion around Montreal's airport.

The shuttle operates 37 daily trips, with departures every 15 minutes during the morning peak and every 30 minutes throughout the rest of the day.

Passengers departing from downtown can board at the Palais des congrès, where an exclusive waiting area is available before traveling directly to the airport's check-in and baggage drop facilities.

Travelers arriving at Montréal Trudeau Airport can board the shuttle outside Gate 7 on the departures level after collecting their luggage. Seats can be reserved in advance or purchased at the airport, subject to availability.

Air Canada also announced that passengers booked on eligible itineraries with at least 95 minutes of connection time will receive complimentary flight rebooking if their shuttle is delayed and they miss their onward flight, subject to availability.

The service uses Quebec-built Prevost coaches, operated by Autobus Galland, featuring 48 reclining leather seats, onboard restrooms, power outlets, and accessibility assistance for travelers with reduced mobility.

The launch forms part of Air Canada's broader investment in multimodal transportation solutions designed to make travel more seamless while supporting more sustainable mobility in Montreal. Airport operator ADM Aéroports de Montréal welcomed the initiative, noting it will provide travelers with an additional transportation option while longer-term infrastructure projects, including the future REM station, are completed.
