Ka Laʻi Waikīkī Beach officially debuts as Hilton's first LXR Hotels & Resorts property in Hawaiʻi following a $100 million transformation

Ka Laʻi Waikīkī Beach has officially reopened following a $100 million transformation, marking the debut of Hilton's first LXR Hotels & Resorts property in Hawaiʻi.

Located along the Waikīkī coastline, the reimagined luxury resort has undergone a comprehensive redesign that spans guest accommodations, public spaces, wellness facilities, dining venues, and outdoor areas.

The project aims to blend contemporary luxury with Hawaiian culture, local craftsmanship, and the natural beauty of the islands.

The redesign was led by Bryan O'Sullivan Studio, with architectural support from Guerin Glass Architects. Natural materials such as wood, lava stone, marble, and woven textures feature prominently throughout the property, alongside curated artwork by artists including Marco Rountree, Christine Skaggs, and Big Island ceramic artist Suzanne Wang.

The resort offers spacious guest rooms and 238 residential-style studios and suites, many featuring fully equipped kitchens, private lanais, spa-inspired bathrooms, and views of the Pacific Ocean or Fort DeRussy Park.

"Hawaiʻi has long held a special place in Hilton's story, and with Ka Laʻi Waikīkī Beach, this transformation marks an exciting evolution for both the LXR portfolio and Hilton Luxury globally," said Dino Michael, senior vice president and category head of luxury brands at Hilton.

The renovation also introduces three new dining concepts under Executive Chef Yoshi Ohata. The Kini Room serves Pacific Rim-inspired cuisine, while Muse Lounge offers cocktails inspired by classic Hawaiian recipes. Bloom Cafe & Restaurant focuses on locally sourced breakfast specialties overlooking Waikīkī.

Additional upgrades include a refreshed Spa Ka Laʻi, where treatments incorporate traditional Hawaiian wellness practices and locally inspired ingredients. Outdoor spaces were also revitalized with sustainability in mind, preserving elements of the original design while incorporating alternative materials.

To celebrate the reopening, the resort has introduced a limited-time "Discover Luxury" package that includes a $1,000 resort credit for guests to experience the property's new amenities and dining offerings.
