Today, July 14, 2026, the airline launched the only nonstop route between the United States and Maracaibo, Venezuela, with the inaugural flight departing from Miami International Airport.

American Airlines will operate the route using Embraer 175 aircraft, offering a premium cabin and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi sponsored by AT&T.

American Airlines recently operated an aid flight from Miami to Caracas following the devastating earthquakes that hit Venezuela at the end of June. The company also decided to ease ticket conditions for passengers. The latest numbers announced 4,490 dead, over 16,700 injured and thousands still living in temporary shelters.
