SWISS' new Airbus A350‑900. Photo: SWISS SWISS airline ground staff have approved the new collective agreement, which will come into effect on January 1, 2027 and will be valid for at least five years.
The agreement was formed after negotiations between the company's management and the labor organizations and trade unions representing ground workers, including SEV-GATA, the Swiss Chamber of Commerce (Kaufmännischer Verband Schweiz), and VPOD Air Transport.
As part of the agreement, several changes were made to the terms of employment, including shortening the workweek, updating salary ranges and bonuses, improving pension conditions, expanding maternity leave rights, and additional social benefits.
According to the company, the agreement is intended to improve employees' employment conditions while creating a foundation that will allow SWISS to continue operating competitively in the coming years.
The previous agreement had been in effect since 2018 and was extended during the COVID-19 pandemic. The negotiations on the new agreement are intended to adapt the terms of employment to the company's current operational needs.
